WHAT IS JEET KUNE DO?
Bruce Lee researched every martial art that he could to develop his own personal system, Bruce's system is known for its economy of motion and integration of arts. His motivation in developing his own modern approach was to get away from what he termed "the classical mess" of traditional martial arts, where techniques were often taught in non-functional ways. Jeet Kune Do literally means, Jeet (to stop) Kune (the fist) Do (the way) which translates to - "The way of the intercepting fist".

WHO ARE YOU CERTIFIED IN JEET KUNE DO & BJJ BY?
I'm a JKD Concepts and Filipino martial arts instructor under Sifu Paul Vunak (Progressive Fighting Systems) & a Gracie Barra BJJ Blue Belt (2 Stripe) Under World Champion Braulio "Cacara" Estima. I have been training in martial arts since 1981 and hold various other qualifications from many other martial arts disciplines. But Jeet Kune Do & BJJ are where my heart is, they have provided me with a freedom that I have yet to find anywhere else, and with the opportunity to grow both as a person and as a martial artist.
IS JEET KUNE DO A NEW STYLE OF KUNG FU OR KARATE?
No! Jeet Kune Do is not a new style of kung fu or karate. Bruce Lee did not create a new art, nor did he modify a style to set it apart from any existing method. His concept was to free his followers from clinging to any one style, pattern, or mould. The total picture Lee wanted to present to his pupils was that above all else the pupils must find their own way to truth. Bruce did not leave a blue print, but rather a series of guidelines to lead one to proficiency. Jeet Kune Do is a means to self discovery, to absorb what is useful, reject what is useless and add what is specifically our own.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE PRINCIPLES OF JEET KUNE DO?
